Here’s a test render for a small animation I’m working on…
Basically I’m still experimenting with the hair module in cinema 4D and working on creating the underwater environment. Still have to create the whole underwater elements (jellyfishes, fish, seaweed…)
But for now, this is preview I guess…

The biggest thing you are missing with Hair is use of the clump setting. It takes a whole lot of trial and error to get settings that look pretty realistic. Even underwater hair will clump a bit. It’s hard to tell from the resolution the image is rendered at but it also looks to me like you want to make a distribution map for the hair line to make it less even. I wrote a lot of this info down over at the interPoser forum:

Have fun, Hair is a great and powerful tool!

Hey man,
First and foremost thanks for your comment. I mean, I usually get comments like: nice job, keep it up and so on and so forth.
Your comment on the other hand was very helpful. I actually read your comment last night and started experimenting more and more with the hair tool and the clump setting in it! the result was really great!
so thanks man,
hope to hear more from you and see some of your work.
